Sparky was a small mixed breed dog,but had the heart and spirit of any pure breed. Sparky came in to my life from an ad in the paper, it said "free, cute adorable puppies". Sparky was a loyal, devoted, and trusted friend. He was afraid of cats but eventually made friends with our cat Felix, they slept together every night. Two more dogs came into Sparkys life, Dobie and Tessie, and a cat named Blaze. Blaze liked to chase Sparky through the yard but they also became good friends. Sparky enjoyed swimming in our pool and roaming through the fields. He loved to eat hot dogs and cat food for dinner. Ive never known a more human like dog, he learned how to dance while standing on his back legs and could jump off a diving board on his own. He often would make noises that sounded as if he was trying to talk. No one would believe me but he once clearly said "Hi guy's how are you!" Sparky always knew how to make me laugh, and if I cried Sparky would cry with me and lick my tears away. Sparky was an original, and has been irreplaceable in our lives.Sparky was a laid back humble character. He survived a vicious dog attack by 2 large dogs in 1988 while relaxing on his porch, and had to get 30 stitches on his leg. Sparky's one vice was chasing cars , he was hit by a EMC truck in the summer of 1989, he survived after a hip replacement surgery and a week in physical therapy.. Tragically his next accident was fatal. My father found Sparky one morning not far from our house ,on the side of the road killed by an unknown motorist. It broke our hearts. I miss and love that little guy every day. When I get to Heaven I know Sparky will be at the pearly gates waiting for me, giving me lots of licks! I make sure now to not let my pets roam or be anywhere near traffic..

"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from bondaged of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." Romans 8:18-22

UPDATE: Felix (the gray male cat pictured here) was Sparky's first cat friend. He ran away shortly after we adopted a collie dog named Tessie. Although Felix got along with Sparky and our other dog Dobie. He became so very upset over Tessie after she growled at him, he ran away the next day. His whereabouts were unknown for several months. The last time I saw Felix, he was walking through the field around our house. He looked very thin and I called his name. Felix stopped and looked at me but then ran into the woods. He was a very sweet cat and I missed and loved him. I know he and Sparky are together on the rainbow bridge waiting for my return.
