Mr. Bobby Ray Vines, age 62 of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Vines was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and was a logger. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and car racing.
He was the son of the late Jim Vines and the late Maggie Elizabeth Bland Vines. Mr. Vines was also preceded in death by his sister Flora Boyler and his granddaughter Angel Renee Vines. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Wanda Springfield Vines, one son Danny Vines, one daughter Tammy Vines, one brother Jimmy Lee "Pete" Vines all of Dodson, and one sister Jean Elizabeth Hammonds of Winnfield, eight grandchildren, Tyler, Heather, Brandon, Taylor, Dustin, Aleah, Maggie and Emily. Mr. Vines is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday April 8th, at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Shawn Barnett, Rayford Chandler, and Scott Tilton officiating. Friends may visit with the family in the church on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of services on Thursday. Interment will follow in the Hurricane Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be: James Cross, Emmett Blundell, Troy Blundell, David Springfield, Jimmy Vines, and Billy Wayne Pullig. Honorary pallbearers will be R. B. Brock, Tommy Spears, Lloyd Vines, and Roger Vines.
