Pets - Casper, Buffy, & Frosty Edgerton
Birth: Nov. 12, 1973
Fairfield County
Connecticut, USA
Death: May 21, 2004
Polk County
Florida, USA

In memory of our pets Casper, Buffy, and Frosty who we will meet again with Sarge and Rocky and Duke at the 'Rainbow Bridge'.

Born 12 November 1973
Died 26 March 1990

In December 1973 two neighborhood boys were selling their six-weeks old puppies to get Christmas money. One puppy was a male - the other a female. Marge chose the male. She gave the boys $15.00. They only wanted $5.00 for both puppies.

Because he was so friendly we named him after the 'Friendly Ghost'.

I guess he was more my dog because he was always following me. If I stopped short, he would bump into the back of my legs.

He was a black and white cocker-poodle. His usual weight was 40-45 pounds but he could run like the wind.

We lost Casper because of liver failure. The vet put him to sleep on 26 March 1990 as Marge and I held him in our arms.

We had Casper for 16 years, 4 months, and 2 weeks.

He was loved by all our friends and neighbors.

Rest In Peace In Doggy Heaven Casper, My Faithful Friend.

Casper was cremated and his ashes were scattered in Florida on private property.

Born 1 April 1991
Died 21 May 2004

Buffy was a female Mix-Terrier. We rescued her from the SPCA in Lakeland, Florida in April 1993 when she was two years old.

For the first three months or so she was a nightmare. She wouldn't obey us at all. She wouldn't come when called. She chewed anything and everything. She barked for no reason.

It was difficult for all those months of aggravation and training, but we won - she lost.

She had been thirty eight pounds of pure love and pleasure to us and will be ~always~.

Buffy died, in my arms, of cancer in the hospital.

Rest in Peace in Doggy Heaven our dear precious friend Buffy.

Buffy's ashes were scattered near Casper's and Frosty's ashes on private property in Florida.

Born 2 Feb. 1986
Died 27 July 2002

Frosty was an eleven pound female cat with long black and white hair. We got Frosty from a veterinarian in Wethersfield, Conn.

We wanted a companion, a kitten, to keep our ageing dog Casper company. These two were perfect together. When Casper was sleeping Frosty would snuggle up to his tummy and take her nap. That didn't bother Casper at all. He enjoyed it, the old fool.

Frosty got her name because Marge brought her home on a cold windy frosty morning in April 1986.

We had Frosty for sixteen years and four months.

She died 27 July 2002 of liver failure in her sleep durning the night in the hospital.

Rest In Peace In Kitty Heaven, Dear Precious Frosty. I miss you....'come to daddy'.

Frosty was cremated and her ashes scattered near Casper and Buffy in Florida on private property.

Frosty traveled with us in our motor home for six years and 60,000 miles and Buffy traveled with us for four of those years through all 48 Contiguous States and Southern Canada.

Just this side of heaven is a place called the "Rainbow Bridge". When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, sunshine and toys, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. Those who were abused or mal-treated have had their tears wiped away, and sit for as long as they want on the Golden Flowing Robes of God's Lap. They feel the touch of Pure Love on their heads and finally know happiness. All the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing - they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent and her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, she breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the "RAINBOW BRIDGE" together...
