Grandpa was known as "Ace" by his family and many many friends and business associates.

Grandpa was the founder of Edgerton Hauling (circa 1895) which later became Edgerton & Sons Trucking & Rigging Co. Inc. Bridgeport, Conn. He was with the Firm for more than 60 years - up to the time he died.

He started the business with one horse and one wagon and manually, by himself, loaded and unloaded huge beer kegs (300 pounds each) for delivery to the taverns in the Bridgeport area.

Grandpa had a reputation for "buying" and selling horses.

Grandpa's sister Mamie, who lived in New Jersey, raised Collie dogs. She gave Grandpa a blue and white puppy. Over the years we watched "Blue" grow into "Old Blue". He was a big and beautiful dog and a faithful friend to Grandpa and was loved by all the family - rest forever in doggy heaven "Old Blue".
