SALEM – Helen Lorain Ronshausen, 90, of 12757 Lisbon Road, died at 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Jackson, Jackson County, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Arthur and Anna Elizabeth (Spriggs) Nichols.
Helen was a member of the Greenford Lutheran Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She lived in the area since 1941.
Helen was a superlative cook and baker who loved caring for her family. She and her husband owned and operated Gary's Greenhouse in Greenford for 40 years. Both of them enjoyed raising the best flowers and vegetable plants in the area. She was known as "Grandma Flowers" and he was known as "Grandpa Flowers" to their youngest flower enthusiasts.
Her husband, Elbert Jay Ronshausen, whom she married Sept. 15, 1939, preceded her in death May 6, 1999. Eleven brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Gary Lee (Kathleen) Ronshausen, Sr. of Leetonia; two daughters, Nina L. Ronshausen of Salem and Christina A. (Bill) Terrell of Webster, Texas; a sister, Janet Nichols Iltis of Empire, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Gary L. Ronshausen, Jr., Rebecca L. Ronshausen and Steven A. (Katie) Ronshausen.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
Calling hours will be held at the church today from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery in Leetonia.

Arrangements are being handled by the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem.
