OWENS, GEORGE SHERMAN was born March 20, 1879 and departed this life December 5, 1963 at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 15 days. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Scott County, Tennessee. He was united in marriage to BETTY COOPER, April 16, 1905 and to this union was born six children. His wife and two children preceded him in death. He was united again in marriage to NELLIE SMITH, November 17, 1921 and to this union was born eight children. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, NELLIE OWENS; 11 daughters; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
