Born Aug. 4, 1917, in Peru, he was the son of Lesley and Burnice Hopper Edwards. He was married Oct. 10, 1939, to Mary E. Rinker, who survives.

A 1935 graduate of Peru High School, Otto was a retired C&O Railroad conductor. He also was a conductor for Amtrak Railroad.

He was a life member of the Moose Lodge, the Coon Hunters Association, Fraternal Order of Police and the Peru Maennerchor. He was a member of the Sons of America Legion, Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Eastern Woodland Carvers, United Transportation Union, Voyager Club at the Knights of Columbus, Peru-Miami Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite at Fort Wayne, Murat Temple Shrine Club in Indianapolis, and Logansport Shrine Club.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Edwards and wife, Sharon, and Otto A. Edwards and wife, Janice, all of Peru; six grandchildren, Missy Ward and husband, Michael, Kenny Edwards and wife, Karen, Rochelle Gartland and husband, Frank, Betsy Wolfe and husband, Chris, Erica Gocke and husband, Tom, and Jessica Chandler and husband, Lee; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Revs. George McCarty and George Dinkel will officiate. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery, Miami County.
