Byron Gale Clark, 66, of rural Lagro, Indiana died Friday, December 10, 2004 7:33pm at Millers Merry Manor West in Wabash. He was born on November 8, 1938 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to Drew and Doris (Schimming) Clark.
He married Vicky Badgley in Kokomo on May 5, 1979. Mr. Clark graduated from Corning High School, Corning Arkansas in 1956 and was a US Army veteran. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in 1998 with 25 years of service. He was a life long St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, and avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, hunting and fishing, and had a passion for golf. He was a member of Etna Acres Golf Club 25 years and was converted at Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Clark of Lagro; his mother, Doris Clark of Corning, Arkansas; his three sons, Keith (Debbie) Clark of Patriot, Indiana, Kevin (Kristi) Clark of Urbana, and Kristopher Clark of Fayetteville, North Carolina currently serving in Iraq; his two daughters, Lana Fairchild of North Manchester and Amber Clark of North Manchester; his brother, Thaddeus (Betty) Clark of Corning, Arkansas; his three granddaughters, Heather Fairchild, Alyssa Fairchild, and Madison Clark; and one grandson, Drew Clark. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 11:00am. David Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 2-8pm Tuesday and 9-11am Wednesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the families of the 82nd Airborne "A" Company 3/325 Paratroopers c/o Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service.
