Ella Victoria Millard-Cross was the Daughter of Stephen Millard & Mary Tuttle-Millard. She was born on Sept. 9, 1854. She married Liberty Cross on March 3, 1868 in Columbia County, and was the mother of William H., Frank, Mary & Charles Cross. She died Nov. 22, 1876, She is buried in Hastie Cemetery with no grave marker, though she may be the grave with the small marker written, "Unknown", which is directly in front of her fathers stone. Her death certificate(Columbia County(v.1, p.30, remarks 89)) says, "Place of Burial- Cemetery in School District #4 Dekorra Township." In the 1890 Dekorra plat map, Hastie Cemetery is shown to be directly next to School #4, although it shows the cemetery to be in Section #17, it is actually in section #20. Hastie Cemetery is on Private property, Do not Trespass! Please ask the owner of the property for permission before even thinking of attempting to find the cemetery yourself. I did on April 10, 2007, and am grateful for the access given to me, by the Bender Family. Hastie Cemetery, in Ella Victoria Cross' 1876 Columbia County death certificate is shown as "Cemetery at District #4." This is the cemetery, next to the old Dekorra School #4, refered to as, "Rockwell Cemetery", in George H. Millards 1887 Columbia County death certificate. But either way, today it is Hastie Cemetery.
