He was the youngest son of Albert T. Phillips and Alice Redden and was raised at the Phillips Homeplace near Mt. Carmel. His family was among the early pioneers of that region. He worked as a coalminer in the Wainwright and Eberts Mines, and was a life long resident of Milton Township. First Wife was Mayme Tucker. Children: Helen, Paul Loren, And Regina Phillips. 2nd Wife Mary Murl Moore: Children: Raymond Edward (Father), Orville Lamar, Audrey Rosell, Albert Dale, Robert L. and William Louis and Erma Lee Phillips.
