Albert William Aubrey came to California during the Gold rush, leaving his wife, Lavina, and children behind to join him several years later. Albert was a woodworker and worked as a sash and door frame worker in Marysville when the town was in a booming construction growth. The 1857 City Directory shows that the company was called; Bender & Aubrey Sash, Door and Blind Factory on the corner of Fourth and Maiden Lane in Marysville. Albert and Lavina Aubrey had one daughter, Louise L Derrickson and three sons, Arthur, Frank and Vate.
