Mrs. Lelia Rachel Thompson, 82, of 1510 Monroe St., died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Waynesboro Community Hospital. She was born in Nelson Co. on May 6, 1900, a daughter of the late Richard Lee and Ida Belle Truslow. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Creed Thompson, on Dec.3, 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. McAuldman (Marion) Campbell of Roseland and Mrs. H. Page (Vivian) Grove of Waynesboro; a brother, Richard "Dick" Truslow of Faber; two sisters, Mrs. Noble T. McGahee of Richmond and Mrs. Ora T. Whilock of Fisherville; two granddaughters, three great-grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wintergreen Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Cecil O. Rhodes, with burial in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chesley Puckett, Sterl Irvine, Earl Thompson, Frank Napier, Raymond Spitler and Herbert Truslow. Honorary pallbearers will be Hawthorne Falls, William "Pete" Falls, Kenneth Marshall, Wayne Simpson, Vernon Truslow, Owen Napier, Pearson Small, Ashby Roberts, Mitchell Thompson and Martin Truslow. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of donations to Waynesboro Community Hospital or Waynesboro First Aid Crew. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the Waynesboro Chapel of Etter Funeral Home. FUNERAL NOTICE Survivors include two granddaughters, Mrs. Mervil (Kay) Wooten of Waynesboro and Mrs. John (Zane) Pierce of Lyndhurst.
