Son of of John Henry BRIGGS & Catherine Elizabeth YOUTZY. Grandson of William Hainey BRIGGS & Jane Isabella WILSON and Michael YOUTZY & Catherine LUTZ. Husband of Martha Ella CUPP. Father of Frederick Charles BRIGGS.
Lloyd served his country during the Spanish American War as Pvt., Troop H, 8th U.S. Calvary; Sgt. Company L 8th Calvalry.
The bodies of Lloyd M. Briggs and Henry Neugebauer, two young soldiers of Tyrone, who died from fever some months ago in Cuba, were forwarded to the homes of their parents in Tyrone last week. Their remains were intered in the Grand View Cemetery at that place on Wednesday, the 19th inst., with the honors of war. Mr. Briggs was a son of John N. Briggs, a former resident of this place.
