A native of Denham Springs and a resident of Gonzales, she passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at the age of 80. Visitation at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Monday, Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Boby Alex, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynnette and Darrel Broussard; sons, Ivan Bourgeois and significant other Marie Jones, Mike Bourgeois and Trent Bourgeois; grandchildren; Terrell, Clinton, Kristi and Ryan Broussard, Marlee and Grant Bourgeois; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Paul Sibley. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Victor Joseph "Joe" Bourgeois; son, Timothy Bourgeois; parents, Alma Reynolds and Herbert Hoover; brothers, Willie and Otto Thornton; and sisters, Virgie Sheldon and Nettie Sibley. Pallbearers will be Terrell, Clinton, Ryan and Tyler Broussard, Kibler Sibley and Keith Crozier. Honorary pallbearer is Grant Bourgeois.
