Eight months later Captain Yard went to Richmond ,Virginia to retrive John C.'s body and return it to Paterson , for his final burial, at the familys request. John C. is buried along side his wife Matilda Allman, with his daughter Nellie Mae Bogert buried behind him. John was originally buried in "Sandy Hill" Cemetery, in Paterson NJ. Since this cemetery was sadly negelected ,when Cedar Lawn Cemetery opened many of the bodies were moved by the families , to this new and beautiful Victorian graveyard. He is still remembered by his great great grandchildren on the day of his death. John & Matilda had a son as well as a daughter, George Shelby Bogert, who is buried in Bay View Cemetery .
