LARRY EWELL Larry G. Ewell, 65, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 25, 2009, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born June 16, 1944, in Provo, Utah, to Elmer and Luella Ewell. A longtime resident of Las Vegas, he graduated from Rancho High School. He was a plastering contractor for many years and, along with his wife, owned and operated Latter Day Tours. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a youth leader and Bishop. Larry is survived by his wife, Ginger, of 44 years; eight children, Lisa Manley, Jill Harper, Robin Thompson, Kelly Jacks, Larry Ewell II, Ginger Warner, Amy Johnson and John Ewell; 28 grandchildren; brother, E. Lloyd Ewell; and sister, Rose Marie Lee. He will be greatly missed and we are at peace, knowing that we are an eternal family. Public viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, both at the LDS Chapel, 10550 Alta Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.
Larry was always the kindest and most helpful Christ-like person. He gave to many in random acts of kindness, loved his family and served his Master. He was a hard worker in his business and in his church work and taught his children the work ethic. He especially loved to make memories with his family and there were numerous trips to the lake and other fun activities that they enjoyed together. He was a former missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New England states. Perhaps that is why he loved the fall foilage trips into New England so much. He will be deeply missed.
