Birth: 1744, USA
Death: Oct., 1812
Stockbridge
Windsor County
Vermont, USA

Oldest grave and head of the Abbott family line in this Cemetery, Nathan and wife Lydia arrived in 1787 per their headstone from Connecticut, and the family continued to live in Stockbridge and the surrounding towns of Bethel, Woodstock, Barnard and others for many generations until the late 1940s. Eldest son Daniel is the more 'known' head of the family line in Stockbridge; farmlands that he owned and likely parcelled out to his sons and other descendants directly abut the cemetery. An 1869 Map of Stockbridge shows the locations of his sons' residences on this land. The land overlooks the White River, and is still being farmed today.
