SIOUX CITY -- Tristen Taylor Allyn, 12, of Pierson, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Tristen was born on Sept. 24, 1999, in Sioux City, to Cori Allyn and Melanie Desmond. He grew up in Sioux City and Pierson. He attended Hawthorne and Leeds elementary schools. He was currently in the sixth grade at Kingsley-Pierson.

Tristen was a talented and gifted student in math and science. He enjoyed baseball, skate boarding, rip sticking, fishing, biking and reading.

Survivors include his mother, Melanie Desmond of Pierson; his father, Cori Allyn of Sioux City; his stepfather, Adam Muecke of Pierson; his sister, Shyna Allyn of Pierson; his stepbrother, Ethan Muecke of Pierson; maternal grandparents, Reba and Stanley of Sioux City, and Paul Laperriere of Pierson; paternal grandparents, Brenda Allyn, Vikki Allyn and Norman Allyn Jr., all of Sioux City; paternal great-grandparents, Sharon Paris of Havelock, N.C., Genevieve (Allyn) Bishop of Sioux City, Beverly Fritz of Sioux City, and Bonnie Simmons of Sioux City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Norman "Pete" Allyn, Donald Paris, and Earl Fritz; and an uncle, Moses Simpson.

Pallbearers will be Jason Allyn, Joe Allyn, Adam Muecke, Tim Weinmeister, Jeremy Bauer, and Lance March.

A memorial has been established in his name.
