KEEGAN, MURIEL E., 88, of Ravenswood Avenue, died peacefully Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Keegan, Sr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose A. (McCarron) Kelly, she was a lifelong city resident. After working in the private sector for several years, Mrs. Keegan was a placement officer for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Employment Security, then as an auditor for the Rhode Island Division of Taxation, for a total of twenty-two years, retiring in 1982. Muriel was a communicant of Saint Augustine Church, and a member of the parish Rosary & Altar Society. She was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.
She leaves a son, Thomas E. Keegan; two daughters, Carolyn M. Keegan, with whom she lived, Ann Marie Keegan, and her husband, Paul Gallo; two sisters, Eleanor C. Milner and Dorothy M. Platt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Alice T. Finegan, Richard, Walter, Edmund, James and Vincent Kelly.
The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday, 4-8 pm.
