Russ was preceded in death by his parents; a special uncle and aunt, Hutt and Emma Owen; sisters, Muriel Colbert and Pauline Klotz; brothers, Claude, Raymond, Robert and Gilbert Adams; and stepson, James Guyot.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughter, Carole Adams and her husband, Jim, stepson, Steven Guyot and his wife, Jackie; granddaughter, Heather Ferguson; step-granddaughter, Catherine Guyot; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Russ was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy on troop and ammunition ships. He was a member of Quitman Baptist Church, a licensed plumber, owner of Adams Plumbing and Lakeside Resort in Heber Springs, and retired from the Arkansas State Health Department as plumbing inspector in 1987.
