| Birth: | Mar. 8, 1879 | | Death: | Nov. 9, 1956 | He and brother Michael Katz owned and operated the Katz Drug Store chain in the metro Kansas City, Missouri area. The stores sold everything you could imagine, from refrigerators to pet monkeys, and had a complete soda fountain. The Katz brothers were big on marketing, and I can recall once when they gave away razors, which of course got customers to buy the blades. The chain was sold presumably after the death of Michael in 1962, and then became Skagg's, and was later sold again and became Osco's, as it is today.
