Lutz - Mr. Malcolm Edward Barrow, age 89, a resident of Lutz, FL, formerly of Winter Haven, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Good Shepard Hospice due to natural causes.
Mr. Barrow was born February 14, 1925 in Greenville, AL, to William and Sarah Isabelle (Thurman)Barrow. Malcolm was a resident of Lutz for 30 years coming from Atlanta. He graduated from Winter Haven High School, Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. with a B.S. in Science and from a Seminary School in Dallas, TX where he became an ordained minister. He taught school in Fulton County, GA for 10 yrs., was an Inn keeper for several Holiday Inns in different states, then retired to Florida where he raised exotic birds, which was his passion. He attended the King of Peace Church in St. Pete.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Willie C. Barrow; 2 sisters Bertha Dees & June Minshew and nephew Rodney Collier.
Malcolm is survived by: 3 sisters; Maxcine Collier, Betty Barnes, Janice (Jimmie) Brown, all of Winter Haven, his longtine companion of 51 years: Henry Parham of Lutz, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2014 at Kersey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven.
Visitation will be held before service from 12:30 til 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The Ledger.com
