CEDAR - James Francis Brzezinski, 55, of Cedar, died Tuesday at his home.
Born June 28, 1944, in Cedar, he was the son of Joseph F. and Agnes C. (Popa) Brzezinski. On Sept. 30, 1967, in Traverse City, he married Nancy Kay Rosinski, who survives.
James was the owner of Brezin Electric. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church where he was a lecturer and Eucharist Minister and a member and former president of the Pastoral Council. Jim spent the last two years researching and doing an updated site plan for Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Isadore. He was also a member of Cedar Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Cedar Polkafest Committee, former board member of Associated Builders and Contractors, past president of the Electrical Contractor's Association, member of Square D National Regional Board, member of the Knights of Columbus and former member of Immaculate Conception Parish of Traverse City.
He is also survived by his father of Cedar; two sons, Paul Joseph Brzezinski of Royal Oak and Matthew Jay Brzezinski of Cedar; and six sisters and brothers, Leonard Brzezinski of Lansing, Mary (Jack) Forster-Snyder of Indianapolis, Ind., JoAnn (Thomas) Swarz of Cadillac, Patricia (Ronald) Hokenstad of Larksburg, Colo., Jon (Anne) Brzezinski of Suttons Bay and Ann Marie Brzezinski of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes C. Brzezinski, on July 26, 1994, and a brother, Joseph Antoni.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. Visitation will also be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Isadore with a Rosary recited at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Jerome Brzezinski officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Rosary Church, Munson Hospice Program or U of M Comprehensive Cancer Center.
