Ruth P. Henry, 81, of Washington Township, died Monday (Dec. 15, 2003) in West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township, where she lived five years.

She was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Apollo.

Mrs. Henry was a member of First United Church of Christ, Apollo, the Apollo Community Center and the Roaring Run Watershed Association, Kiski Township.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Deborah) Henry of Spring Grove and William (Marge) Henry of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two daughters, Pauline Barrera of Henderson, Nev., and Marie Dunmire of Apollo; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herb (Janet) Hill of Apollo, John (Yoko) Hill of Portland, Ore., and George Hill of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister, Alice Mae Shaffer of Oil City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Henry; her parents, Harvey H. and Maude M. Shetler Hill; and two sisters, Jean Carlisle and Mary E. Russo.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday in CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. The Rev. C. Ray Himes will officiate. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, (AKA Fairview Cemetery), Spring Church.
