While we do not know precisely how Robert Morris and his family made their way west, it would appear that they stopped in what is now Marshall Co., WV at Apple Pie Ridge (now Sand Hill, Marshall Co., WV) before returning to Greene Co., PA. Some of Robert's children went on to Noble Co., OH (and some returned to Greene Co., PA). When did Robert Morris go west? Perhaps as early as 1774. It would appear that at least one of Robert's brothers, Richard Morris, also moved west and settled for a while in Greene Co., PA before moving on to Ohio.
Robert Morris lived at "Liberty Hall" in Jefferson Twp., Greene Co., PA. The property was next to that of William Stiles. There is a reference to an 1816 deed to "Liberty Hal." According to Ken Lowden, Robert Morris "patented" the Liberty Hall estate in 1775.
He had no wife in a deed in 1816. See Deed Book 6, pp 221, he was dead before 4-30-1828. In 1829 Cornelius Waychoff testified that he was familiar with the Robert Morris land called "Liberty Hall". Cornelius son Thomas mrd Catharine Rush, a sister to my James Rush & a sister to John Jackson Rush who married Mary Morris. See App-Docket Book 9, pp 164-166.

It would appear that Robert Morris is living alone in Jefferson Twp., Greene Co., PA at the time of the 1820 census. Apparently, his grandson (the son of John Franklin and also named Robert) lived just a couple of household away."
