Services Monday for James Kocum
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah on Monday morning for James Kocum, a long-time Tekamah resident. He died at the Tekamah Senior Citizens' Home on February 14. He had lived there since June, 1966. His sister is Mrs. Rose Urban, also a resident of the Home.
Mr. Kocum was born in Czechoslovakia on October 20, 1884. His parents were Joseph and Veronica Kocum.
The family came to the United States in 1906, and made their home at Fairfax, S.D.
In 1926 Mr. Kocum came to Tekamah and was employed at Urban's Market until the late 1940's. He lived with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Urban.
Besides his sister he is survived by a brother, Joe Kocum of Norfolk, and two nephews.
Rosary was recited at Hamel & Peck Funeral Home Sunday evening.
Pallbearers were Charles King, Archie Corbin, George F. Allely, John Herman, Earl Haswell and Frank Kelly.
Burial was in Tekamah Cemetery.
