James O. "Jim" Baker, 73, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013.
He was born on May 30, 1940, in London, Ken.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Nancy; three children. Nanette (Brian) Driscoll, Holly (Tom) O'Neal and James R. (Erin) Baker; seven grandchildren, Michael (Betsy), Jake, Derek, Mallorie, Amanda, James B., Markus and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren, Micah, Spencer and Alana; a brother, Roderick Taylor (Janice); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the army for three years after graduating from Peru High School. He and Nancy raised their family in Crete, Ill., and were actively involved in First Baptist Church. After retiring from Journeyman, Inc., he enjoyed time reading as well as playing fantasy football and baseball.
Funeral services in honor of Jim's life will be held noon on Friday at Flower's-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru, with Pastor Barry Lee officiating.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Flowers Leedy Funeral Home.
Burial will be at The Mount Hope Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
Any donations can be made in his name to Veteran's Affairs.
Arrangements were entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
