EARLY AREA RESIDENT DIES AT 85
Herman A. Angerhofer, 85, a longtime resident of Highland Township, died at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Good Samaritan Rest Home. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Highland Township with the Rev. James Kunze officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. The Huebl Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Angerhofer was born Oc. 20, 1873, in Kulm See, Bermany. When 9-years-old he came with his parents to the United States. They made their first home near Milbank. A short time later they settled in Highland Township. He married Alma Pagel in May, 1908 in West Hanson Township Church.
They lived in Highland Township continuously with the exception of the 10 years between 1932 and 1942, when they resided on a farm near Wetonka. When his wife died in 1943, Mr. Angerhofer made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Angerhofer, Mansfield. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his son, Eldon; a foster son, Henry Hornbacher, Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Letha Knuse, Wetonka, and Mrs. Lucille Lowitz, Columbia Falls, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Preceding him in death besides his wife were two sons, a daughter, one brother and three sisters.
All relatives are requested to meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the basement of the church.
Friends may call at the Huebl Chapel from Monday afternoon until 11 a.m. Friday.
