WILLIAM HOWARD COFFEY, 83, a retired painter, died yesterday in Presbyterian Hospital. He lived on Shopton Road. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow in the Miller, Kerns and Cavin -- Hawthorne Chapel with the Rev. Lewis W. Bledsoe, pastor of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Born October 6, 1890 in the Steele Creek community, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus A. Coffey.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Amanda Coffey of Charlotte, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends are sending memorials to Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.
