Henry was married to Emma M. Foell on June 16, 1887 in Hayes, Buena Vista, Iowa. Together they had 2 children; one daughter, Hazel Ruth Deal; and one son, Merrill Henry Deal. Henry and Emma were married 44 years, June 16 1932 would have been their 45 wedding anniversary.

HENRY W. DEAL
Henry William Deal was born near Waukon, Iowa, January 21st, 1865; and died April 11, 1932, at his home at Hollywood, Calif.
When a mere lad he drove with his parents across the state in a wagon and settled on a farm five miles south of Storm Lake. Here he grew to manhood.
In 1887, he was united in marriage with Emma Foell. To this union two children were born.
In 1892, he engaged in the mercantile business in Storm Lake. In 1910, he moved to Hollywood, California, where he engaged in the building and real estate business. About seven years ago, on account of failing health, he retired.
Mrs. Deal was always kind and considerate of others. Especially was this noticeable during his last illness when he tried to shield his loved ones from the reality of his condition. He was grateful for everything that was done for him and returned a smile for the last act of service given him.
Besides his widow, he leaves to mourn his death, one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Deal-Foster, of Covina, Califor.; one son, Merrill H. Deal, of Hollywood, Calif.; three grandsons, Jack and Gordon Foster and Merrill H. Deal, Jr.; two brothers, John Deal of Colton, Calif., and Martin Deal of Dallas, Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Julia Crowley of Storm Lake, and other relatives and countless friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Hollywood Wednesday, April 13, by Rev. Edwin Ryland, under whose teaching Mrs. deal united with the Methodist church upon locating in Hollywood. Burial was in the Hollywood mausoleum.
