Jessie was the daughter of Eugene Stephen "Sampson" Shaw (1848-1919) and Irene Isabel "Fannie" Warren (1872-1928). She married William Clinton Cockrell (1889-1961) in 0klahoma in 1915 at the age of 13. Clint was the son of William M. Cockrell (1857-1933) and Sarah (Sally) Garton (1865-1944). They had seven children.
