Obit. of Paul E. Lovell

Paul E. Lovell, age 68, of Canton, Mo. passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.; surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born July 24, 1944 in Keokuk, Ia.; a son of Orville and Marie Haskins Lovell. He married Lois Varner and Merry Magray and later married Maribeth Dochterman on April 22, 1989. She survives.

He graduated from Keokuk High School. He had worked at Steen Casting and painted for his brother James Lovell. Paul was a member of the Keokuk Yacht Club and member of the Keokuk Emergency Corps Squad. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sitting on the porch and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Maribeth Lovell of Canton; Children, Paula (Darin) Blaise and Melissa (Ty) Eckland both of Keokuk, Penny Johnston, Michelle (Kevin) Shaffer, Valerie and Caleb Lovell all of Canton; step children Tony Magray of Keokuk and Paul Magray of the state of Florida; brothers, James (Phyllis) Lovell, Terry (Ethel) Lovell and Gary (Carol) Lovell all of Keokuk; one sister, Janice Prindle of Keokuk; grand children, Trent (Chelsie) Lovell, Ethan and Tallon Blaise, Makenah, Kerrigan and Chase Eckland, Hope and Roy Johnston III, Nathan Stevens, Mariah, Cora Kay and Landon Shaffer and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Lovell and two sisters Maxine Wardlow and Lucille Dawson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home conducted by Rev. Terry Lovell and Rev. Clayton Peak. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Marple, Chris Marple, Charlie Howard, Paul Guilfoyle and Paul's grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Paul E. Lovell Memorial Fund.
