These children where entered into a Georgia Indian Land Lottery where they had successful draws that where managed by her father Richard. Some of this land was in Early County.
Abel Carter and Matilda had been married on 2/26/1818 in Franklin County, Georgia.
Many of these Chandler`s and their kin started moving to Carroll County, Ga. in the 1830`s. There where many land transactions going on with land won in the lottery`s and elsewhere.
The second husband was Gabriel Smith and she married him on September 30, 1837, in Carroll Co., Ga.. He was a revolutionary war veteran popular in the area.
Her 3rd husband was Jesse Brown and they where married about or after 1841.
