D. J. REYNOLDS Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Freewill Baptist Church at Wirt for D. J. REYNOLDS, well known citizen of the community who passed away at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. FRANK SCOTT, early Wednesday. Mr. Reynolds suffered a paralytic stroke a year ago and never recovered from it. Rev. T. J. KNIGHT, Freewill Baptist minister, conducted the service, assisted by Rev. C. W. CAMPBELL of the Wirt Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Ryan cemetery directed by Richeson funeral home.
Ryan was the old home. D. J. REYNOLDS was born in Ellis County, Texas, Jan. 23, 1868, and died January 28, 1942.
His wife preceded him in death. He was a long time member of the Methodist Church and belonged to the Woodmen of the World lodge at one time.
Surviving are eleven children; Mrs. FRANK SCOTT and ELMER REYNOLDS of Wirt; Mrs. LEE SNYDER, Mrs. WILLIE KENNEDY and ROSS REYNOLDS of Ryan, Mrs. JEWEL STEELE of Fort Worth, MORRIS REYNOLDS of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. ADA EILAND of Bangs, Texas, and Mrs. LILLIE THOMAS of Zephyr, Texas.
