Carol Ralph Borchers was the youngest son of James Buchanan Borchers and Hattie Elizabeth Borchers. Carol had an older brother, Earl Conrad Borchers and a brother, Carl who died when he was only twenty hours old. Carol grew up on a farm in Rosendale, Andrew county, Missouri. He went to school through the eighth grade and then worked on the family farm.
On April 19, 1917, at the age of 21, he married Mabel M Patterson. On June 5, 1917 he filled out a draft card that indicated he was tall, slender and had brown hair and brown eyes. He farmed all his life. He and Mabel did not have any children.
On August 22, 1958 he died of a cerebral Embolus that they found four hours before his death. At the time he also had colon cancer in his sigmoid colon. He died at 4:20pm at Missouri Methodist Hospital in Rosendale, Missouri. He is buried next to his wife, Mable in Savannah Cemetary.
