Addie L. Tapscott was living in Owensboro, KY; She met Leo H. Durrett while visiting relatives (Frank & Blanche Larimore) in Hart County, KY where Leo was cutting tobacco in August, 1900. The story that has been handed down is that it must have been love at first sight, for shortly thereafter, Addie returned to Owensboro to break her engagement with another, and she and Leo were married on Sept. 25, 1900. They had eight children together, four who died in infancy.

Gravesite Details
Four small graves are beside their Mother's. After her death, her husband moved their four remaining children to Indiana and is buried in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Floyd Co Indiana with his second wife.
