Ms. Charlotte M. Wilcox Anderson, age 77, of 177 Riverside Drive, Wyalusing, Pa., passed away Sunday morning, June 16, 2013, at the Lakeside Nursing Center in Harvey's Lake, Pa.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1936, in Laceyville, Pa., the daughter of the late Ephraim and Mildred Wilcox Sr. Charlotte was a graduate of the Wyalusing High School class of 1955.

Charlotte was a faculty member and coach at the Wyalusing High School that spanned 29 years from 1970-1999. When she retired from coaching the high school softball team she left with more wins to her credit than any other Wyalusing coach in the school's history with 298 wins. Her record includes 10 league championships, including four straight undefeated years in NTL play.

She was a member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Wyalusing Post # 534 American Legion as well as the Wyalusing Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a PIAA official for 28 years. She took great pleasure in all kinds of sports both participating in and supporting our local teams. She even started a women's softball league in 1969. She enjoyed driving her golf cart around Wyalusing talking to people. Most of all she loved and enjoyed her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charlotte is survived by her sons, Ray Anderson (Debbie) of Dallas, Pa., and George Anderson (Jeanne) of Tunkhannock, Pa.; her grandchildren, Matthew Anderson (McKenzie) of Tunkhannock, Pa., Nathan Anderson (Tara Lane) of Jenningsville, Pa., Kristy Carey (Alan) of Tunkhannock, Pa., Steven Anderson of Hollywood, Calif., Megan Anderson of New York, N.Y., Olivia Anderson of Tunkhannock, Pa., and Fallon Bush of Tunkhannock, Pa.; her great-grandchildren, Austin and Abby Anderson both of Tunkhannock, Pa., Brandon Lane and Adyn and Conner Anderson all of Jenningsville, Pa., and Lauren Carey and Charlie Jones both of Tunkhannock, Pa.; her brother, Fenton Wilcox of Towanda, Pa.; her sisters, Betty Marbaker of Auburn, Pa., Mary Shatinsky of West Auburn, Pa., and Lil Jayne of West Auburn, Pa.; many nieces and nephews, and her long time special friend and companion Gwen Pickett of Wyalusing, Pa. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Kevin Anderson, brothers Ephraim "Albert" Wilcox, Jr., Louie Wilcox, Fayette Wilcox, Oliver "Willy" Wilcox, and sisters June Truesdale, Ruth Startzel, and Shirley Ann Wilcox.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Sheldon Funeral Home in Laceyville, Pa., with Rev. Pat Newhart of the Beaver Meadows and South Auburn United Methodist Churches. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday, June 21, 2013.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bradford County Relay For Life , c/o PS Bank — Amy Huffman, PO Box 217, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or the Wyalusing Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, c/o Mrs. Alice Matson, PO Box 86, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
