Rosanne Malouf Anderson died on Saturday, May 9 in New Haven, CT. She was born in Dallas, TX, on January 28, 1959, to Edward and Marie Malouf.
Rosanne was the sixth of nine children in an extraordinarily loving and generous family. Named after her maternal grandmother, Rose Moossy, Rosanne inherited her remarkable qualities as well as her name.
Following primary and secondary education at St Pius X School and Bishop Lynch High School, she attended Loyola University in Chicago and then transferred to the University of Chicago, graduating in 1981.
Rosanne married Samuel Anderson on August 3, 1979, and they subsequently lived in Chicago, IL, Manhattan Beach, CA, Wilton, CT, and New Haven, CT, while raising their children Virginia, Samuel Jr., and Geoffrey. In 1989, Rosanne completed her MPH at Columbia University, followed in 1995 by an Ed. M. in Higher Ed. Administration. In 1997, she was awarded a Ph.D. in History, also from Columbia University. After completing the Ph.D., she taught at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, and Yale University's summer program.
In 1999, she and her family moved to the Anderson ranch near Emigrant, MT, which remains their home. Upon arrival in Montana, Rosanne joined the faculty at Montana State University. At the time of her death, she was the Executive Director of the Sam & Alfreda Maloof Foundation.
With unconditional devotion to her children, family and friends, combined with talent, intellect and a passion for educational and personal enlightenment, Rosanne profoundly touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Edward Jr. and Marie Malouf; husband Samuel Anderson, children Virginia Anderson, Samuel Anderson, Jr., and Geoffrey Anderson; sisters Amie Malouf, Monica Malouf, Marcellene Malouf; brothers Paul Malouf, Stephen Malouf, Wayne Malouf, Louis Malouf, and Peter Malouf; 32 nieces and nephews, one great niece and a large number of wonderful, devoted and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75225 on Saturday, May 16 at 10 am.
