She retired from P. Lorillard Company and was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Church. She was the most compassionate, loving and selfless mother anyone could hope for, her family was her life and she will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Brown; her parents, Alfred and Ermie Benningfield; brothers, Walter and Albert Benningfield; and great-grandchildren, Brinlee and Mary Caroline.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Kaiser (Larry), Janice Detherage (Larry), Sharon Colvin, Joseph Brown (Leslie), Debra Hancock, Cynthia Brown and Greg Brown (Tammy); sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Ruth Brockman, Ann Benningfield, Charlotte Breshear, Helen Drury and Betty Vincent; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 S. 6th St., with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Louis Bertrand Church or to the Alzheimer's Association .
