Harold E. Cooley, 78, of Louisville, passed away Monday, February 2, 2004, at Jewish Hospital. He was a native of Gravel Switch, KY, retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education, where he was a custodian, and a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Elizabeth Cooley. He is survived his son, Gerald Cooley; daughter, Judy Sanders; two stepdaughters, Linda Manley Elghaouth and Mary Sears; stepson, Archie Cooley; three sisters, Dorothy Wilson, Ruth Cooley and Margaret Roller; one brother, Jimmy Cooley; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at noon Wednesday at O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home, with burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may go to Portland Baptist Church.
