Jennifer Ann Knudson, 28, died on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings with the Rev. Michael Wensing officiating. Burial is at the St. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rude's Funeral Home Brookings with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday Rude's Funeral Home with Sister Marlene Minnaert, officiating.

She was born on April 28, 1977 in Estelline SD, the daughter of James and Barbara (Lieffort) Knudson. She grew up in Brookings and was a graduate of the Brookings High School. After receiving her education she was employed at Homestead, the Fairfield Inn and ADVANCE in Brookings. She cared for her grandfather and her sister's two children along with being self-employed with her own cleaning business. She was engaged to David Schmidt of Flandreau.

She was active as a Sunday School teacher and Wednesday Night Kids Church.
She loved to bargain shop, farming with Dave, riding motorcycles and especially spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her fiancée, David Schmidt; her father, James (Tyke) Knudson of Brookings, SD; her mother Barbara (Ed) Peterson of Brookings; her sister, Heather Muston of Pierre; three step-sisters TeJay (Mark) Kuechenmeister of Brookings, Nicole Knudson of Brookings and Amanda (Ben) Bode of Brookings; her grandparents Stanley and Verla Knudson of Centerville; seven nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, many cousins and special friends Chris Schmidt, Doug VanBeek, Randy Schmidt, Mickey Schmidt and Rick Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Larry and Veletta Lieffort.
