Maynard Hartshorn, 74, son of the late Leroy and Lottie "Nason" Hart-shorn, died at a Bangor healthcare facility, on Monday, March 1, 2004. He was born July 22, 1929, in Waldo. Maynard was a graduate of Crosby High School in Belfast, Class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War returning home to operate a dairy farm in Waldo with his brother. Maynard was a member of the Silver Harvest Grange of Waldo and the Waldo Pomona Grange and the American Legion of Belfast. He is survived by one brother, Gerald Hartshorn of Waldo; and many cousins, Elizabeth Nibby of Morrill, Eleanor Hartshorn of Morrill, Shirley, Harold, Larry, Barbara, Harvard Katy, Rebecca Nibby of Morrill, Patricia LeSan and her husband, Albert, of Sears Mont Harold Nibby of Morrill Betsy, Lori and Victor. He was thankful for his many friends who helped him over the years. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast. A graveside service will be held at the family lot in the Morrill Village Cemetery Morrill, at the time of his interment, which will be announced later in the spring.
