He served our country in the United States Army. John was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church and Anthony Lodge #445 F.& A.M. He retired from the Springfield City Schools after thirty years of teaching social studies and mathematics. John was a long-term member and leader in the Ohio Education Association (OEA). Following retirement from teaching, he went to work at the Springfield Masonic Temple. He was survived by his wife, Bea Buckhold, whom he married on June 13, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northminster Presbyterian Church,, 400 Villa Rd., Springfield, with Pastor Dwight McCormick officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the time of services. Masonic services will also be held at the start of visitation at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family was served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
