SEFFNER, Fla. — Donald W. Bedford Sr. died June 30, 2005, at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

He was born in Middletown on Oct. 17, 1927, son of Robert L. and Fannie (King) Bedford.

He served in Navy Seabees during World War II, and was a life member of American Legion Post No. 190 in Delhi.

Don was a long-distance truck driver for years and then worked on construction out of Laborers International Union Local 643 in Oneonta. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Brandon, Fla.

Survivors are his wife, Grace (Gardner), Seffner, Fla.; daughter Nancy Bedford, Oneonta; two sons, Harold (Karen Hughes), Walton, and Jeffrey (Cathy Patton), Polk City, Fla.

Preceding his death were two sons, Donald Jr. and John Paul Bedford.

There are five grandchildren, George Jones, Deborah McNeilly, Jennifer Bedford, Donald Bedford III and Vanessa Bedford; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding Don's death was a granddaughter, Bonnie Bedford.

Surviving are four sisters, Marjorie Leicht, Asheville, N.C., Audrey Holstein of Williamsburg, Va., Ruth Gannon, Forestburgh, and Ethel Hand, Monticello.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Harris, Robert, Raymond, and his sisters, Helen, Eleanor and Emma.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
