Mrs. Helen R. Allen, 93, of Sandwich, died November 29, 2013 at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in Somerville, Helen was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rafaela (DiGregorio) DiCicco. During WWII, Helen worked in Washington D.C. as a legal secretary. Upon returning to Massachusetts, Helen met Albert B. Allen who was serving in the US Army, whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Helen continued her work as a legal secretary for many years.

After Al passed away, Helen began her 14 years of companionship and marriage with former high school classmate, James W. Dacey. Prior to the death of Helen's husband and James' first wife, the Allens and the Daceys enjoyed spending time together socially.

In addition to James, Helen is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews. She was predeceased by 9 older siblings.

Helen's Funeral will be held on Saturday at 1PM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service. Relatives and friends are invited. A private burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
