Minnie was born on March 4, 1898 in Milo Township, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota to Nils and Hannah Anderson. She grew up and attended school in Milo Township. Minnie married George Bemis on March 4, 1920. After their marriage the couple farmed in Milo Township. Her husband, George, died August 16, 1984 and Minnie entered the Elim Nursing Home in Milaca.
Minnie passed away Thursday July 11, 1991 at the Milaca Elim Home.
Funeral services for Minnie, 93, were held Sunday, June 14 at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Don Matheson officiating. The casket bearers were Don Anderson, Duane Strombeck, Deloy Strombeck, Dewey Anderson, Elmer Totzke and Steve Bemis. Interment was in the Milo Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth and wife Laree of Foreston, three grandsons, Rick and Kathy of Estes Brook, Duane and wife Debbie of Marshall Islands and Dean of Dover, granddaughter, Gail of Foreston, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Andrew, Walter, Alfred and Lawrence; two sisters, Annie Anderson and Edith Strombeck.
