Funeral services for H. L. Allen were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church with Rev. C. W. Taylor officiating.

A ladies quartet composed of Mrs. Donald Brown, Mrs. J. N. Kern, Mrs. Floyd Adkisson and Mrs. C. W. Hamill sang. Mrs. I. H. Bilbrey accompanied them at the piano.

Active casket bearers were W. J. Lowe, Roy Hamrick, A. W. Schlitt, Jack Schlitt, Kirby Whitley and C. A. Heisler. Honorary bearers were S. C. Loveless, Fred Abbott, Elmer Parr, Emmett Henry and Jack Triplett.

The local American Legion had charge of the military service.

Interment was in Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.

Henry Lewis Allen was born May 7, 1894 at Allen, Kentucky and died at 7 a.m. Thursday, December 22 at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 15 days at Will Rogers Hospital.

He came from Kentucky to Oklahoma in 1908 and settled with his parents on the farm north of Verden on which he had since lived. He graduated from the Verden high school and attended school at A & M college and Oklahoma University.

He was married in 1924 to Eunice Hatcher at Allen, Kentucky.

He was a Methodist, a Mason, a member of the American Legion and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Thomas, student at A & M college, Stillwater; Louis, Anadarko, and Bill student at Oklahoma University, Norman; one daughter, Emily Ann Allen, student at O. U., Norman; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Webb, Allen, Kentucky, Mrs. Rhoda Stumbo and Mrs. Elizabeth Tilson, Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Rebecca Kean, San Bernardino, Calif.; and Mrs. Mae Wilson, Rittman, Ohio; and one brother, G. H. Allen, route 1, Anadarko.
