Mrs. Walter Nelsen was born at Kasson, Minnesota, February 5 1887, and passed a way at the Frederic Hospital, Frederic Wic. April 14, 1940, being thus at the of her death 53 years, 2 month,and 9 days of age.
Mrs. Nelsen spent the early part of her life at her home with her parents, Mr and Mrs Thomas Melby
In December, 1910, she united in marriage to John Hansen of Tyler, Minnesota. To this union one child was born (Marvin. They made their home near Russell, Minnesota. On November 10, 1914, her first husband passed away at the Thomas Melby home near Grantsburg, from tuberculosis.
In 1915 Mrs Nelsen Moved with her parents to Milltown and on June 15,1920 she united in marriage to Mr. Walter Nelsen, to this union four children were born of which on daughter, Iola preceded her mother in death.
The family made their home on a farm northwest of Milltown, where Mrs Nelsen spent the last twenty years of her life, enjoying good health, until she took ill a couple of weeks ago. At first her case was not deemed serious and hopes for her recovery was good until last Thursday when her condition from streptococca infection became critical and she was taken to the Frederic Hospital, where after all efforts to save her life, she passed away to eternal reward.
Besides her beloved husband and four children Marvin Hansen, Elvera, Ruby, and Leroy Nelsen she leaves to mourn her departure five brothers, Trygved Melby of St. Paul, Peter Melby of Florence Minn, John Melby of Taylors Falls, Christ Melby, and Fried Melby of Milltown. Two sister, Mrs. Mary Olsen of St Paul, and Mrs Laura Petersen of Milltown,besides other relatives, neighbors and friends.
While yet a young girl Mrs. Nelsen accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and united with the First Baptist Church of Tyler, Minn, later she became a charter member of the Milltown First Baptist church of which she was a fithful and esteemed member until the time of her death and will be missed in her church where she labored and for several year served as president of the sewing circle.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday April 18, for the home at !:30 and from the Milltown First Baptist church at 2 o'clock, Rev. Emil Nielsen assisted by Re. J.E. Christensen of New Richmond.
The pallbearers were Wilbur Schwartz, Seymour Twetter, Elmer Hansen, George Slaikeu, Bernard Larsen and Harry Blomgren.
The funeral arrangements were made by Edling Bros.
Interment was made at the Milltown cemetery. Songs were rendered by the members of the choir of the Milltown Baptist church

Delmar Peterson, West Concord, Minn; Mrs. Ijerath Byron, Minn; Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. M Petersen of Rochester, Minn
A gift of $5.25 was given by local friends for a memorial to Mr.s Nelsen's honor and memory. May God comfort and strengthen the bereaved family.
