Uncle Ed lost his father when he was still a child and he felt a love and obligation to help his Mother. Eventually his Mother moved in with him and his wife Aunt Billie and after awhile it was too much for her being around so many young children. So Ed built her, her own little house next door to them. He was a loving, caring son and father.

I have been reading some beautiful tributes written about Uncle Ed. What an amazing wonderful person he was. He was a deacons quorum advisor for many years and he made such a difference in these boys lives. He was a humble man who believed in love and honor and taught the boys to be the same. He was described as a "gentle man"
After nearly 15 years as a deacons quorum advisor he began to suffer internal pains. and within a few months they became regular and severe, his pain became so bad that he was released from his duties. After nearly two years they found that he had a huge Cancerous tumor at the base of his spine, and surgery was performed. He was told after the surgery that he had only a few months to live. He asked his wife Mildred to pray with him to give him at least another 7 years to help raise his boys. Uncle Ed's life was extended but he was increasingly confined to bed. In January of 1961 his Mother passed away. Then only two months later their son Kelton was killed by a car in front of their home. After Kelton's funeral he told his dear wife that his mission was over and he was ready to go home to heaven. He passed away in July just 4 months after his son Kelton. He had lived 6 and half years after his surgery. He almost made the 7 years. He passed away with his loving family by his side. He was truly a wonderful man and father.

Ed was my husband Don's Uncle. He knew him very well.
I never knew him, but loved his wife Mildred "Aunt Billie"
She was a sweetheart.

REST IN SWEET ETERNAL PEACE UNCLE ED. YOU SURELY ARE LOVED AND MISSED.
