POSEY F. CHEEKS
Posey Franklin Cheeks, 76, died today, May 9, 1941 at 9:15 a.m. at his home on the Free Methodist campgrounds on Dixonville Drive, following a long illness.
Mr. Cheeks was born at Bethany, W. Va, coming to East Liverpool about 34 years ago. He was a coal miner during his early life but last worked as a kilnman at the Taylor, Smith & Taylor pottery.
He was a member of the Oakland Free Methodist church and the Mens Bible class.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Katherine H. Patterson Cheeks; five daughters, Mrs. Carrie Seevers, Mrs. Clara Lisk, Mrs. Mabel Hood, Mrs Elsie McLaughlin and Mrs. Myra Clark, all of East Liverpool; a step-daughter, Mrs. Clara Taylor of Wellsburg, W. Va., a sister Mrs. Samuel Taylor of Cleveland; a brother, Samuel Cheeks of Thamesville, Ontario; 10 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Oakland Free Methodist Church by Rev. C. S. Richardson, the pastor.
Burial will be in the Calcutta United Presbyterian cemetery. Friends may call Saturday or Sunday night at the home.
